INSPIRE A GROWTH MINDSET IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF INNOVATORS & LEADERS

Welcome to Destination Imagination’s 2025-2026 program year.

Today’s students will enter the workforce during a dynamic period in the global economy as advancements in science and technology disrupt nearly every industry. These future leaders will need to embody 21st century skills like collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and resilience as they embark upon careers that do not exist today. At Destination Imagination (DI), we believe that fun, hands-on educational experiences are key to engaging young learners and empowering them to succeed.

Each year, more than 150,000 students across the U.S. and in 30 countries participate in the Destination Imagination Challenge Experience. Rooted in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) concepts, DI Challenges are developed annually with the help of educators, subject matter experts, and qualified volunteers who ensure that our materials cover a wide range of student interests and align to current educational standards.

We are also thrilled to share that Destination Imagination has been recognized as one of just 14 globally impactful educational innovations in the 2025 HundrED Spotlight on Child-Centered Learning, a global initiative developed in collaboration with Montessori Global Education.

We have seen the incredible impact DI has on students in New Jersey —empowering them to lead their learning through creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

This international recognition—and the STAR Endorsement from Montessori Global Education—reflects what so many of us already know: when you trust students to take charge, they rise to the challenge and go beyond expectations. We are honored to represent a program that puts student voice first and helps young people everywhere become the innovators and changemakers our world needs. LIBERTY SCIENCE CENTER TO HOST 2026 NEW JERSEY DESTINATION IMAGINATION STATE TOURNAMENT

New Jersey Destination Imagination (NJDI) is excited to announce that Liberty Science Center (LSC) in Jersey City, New Jersey, will be hosting the 2026 NJDI State Tournament on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

“We are excited to celebrate creativity at one of the premier venues in the country dedicated to supporting and enhancing innovation," stated NJDI Affiliate Director, Carmine Liuzzi. “Both of our organizations are dedicated to furthering interest and innovation in STEM fields for the next generation of students.”

The event is open to the public. Visitors and media are encouraged to attend and experience the creativity and innovation that DI teams put on display. There will be opportunities for attendees to test their creativity and problem-solving skills at our Instant Challenge stations throughout LSC. Instant Challenges are short, team exercises designed to build collaboration skills and are a true test of creativity and problem-solving under pressure.

As a bonus, all NJDI team members, Team Managers, and NJDI volunteers will be granted complimentary admission to LSC. A discounted admission will be made available to all DI spectators and team supporters.
